Understanding

I started this a while ago, but just finished now. Its funny to me that I struggled with it so much considering the topic. It's about my struggle with understanding and expressing myself.

Understanding is elusive

Words, language, emotions, thoughts

For some it comes easy

For me, within my head they’re caught

 

The sieve is clogged and clotted

A sink that will not drain

Fog that can never be parted

Shrouds my tired brain

 

Some can express without fumble

Contents flow from mind to mind

Even this poem is pathetic

Gears inside smoke and grind

 

Perhaps with time comes clarity

I’ll wave a flaming torch

To burn away ambiguity

Watch it sizzle and scorch

 

My greatest foe

This mind within

Chained to my enemy

It’s impossible to win
