A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

between the covers

fictional love,

characters plausible

they develop,

endings coincide with hearts

for life,

real love,

static characters,

broken dream themes

endings coincide with strife

indeterminate

Now,  please put the book down and look into my eyes----

read.

Who says life can't imitate art? I wish it would more often! :)

novels serve an important purpose...they allow us to escape from the stark and often painful reality of our lives. but those escapes are only temporary. but i like to think that somehow, they strengthen and fortify us to confront the pain and heartbreak in our own lives.

:) ...thank you sir!
Amazing how lovers perceive one another. The imagination can make one get carried away. And than the awakening. .. if only real life was more like fiction....
as always an excellent read!

Life and love are the greatest of gifts. Like crows, we are often drawn to the packages wrapped in shiny wrapping paper, topped with a bow. More precious are those little treasures that can be found in the torn wrappings, crinkled with time, and etched with care. Your words reflect this truth. Well done.

Love is an action word, people tend to forget that...sometimes you got to get messy, to make things beautiful

Sometimes we just want this one person
to really look
it sucks to be close to someone and they notice nothing
sucks

You can not tell a book by it's cover, are you reading inside, judging by what you see or what you have absorbed through exploration, is it real or fictional, maybe there will be a cliffhanger to a sequel, or a trilogy, it's really hard to put a good book down if we can get lost in those eyes :P

thank you for your insightful words, Corset.

Sadly "strife indeterminate" is not seen as an opportunity to strengthen a relationship. It's used as excuse to bail. The saddest pat is that if they would take the time to look and read the other carefully, it would be clear that love is not dead.

Books make working through issues look easy. Rarely do they show the how much work really goes into a relationship on a daily basis. It's a never-ending story which requires daily reading to keep up.
