full time contracts are becoming like extinct breakfast cereals

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

full time contracts are becoming like extinct breakfast cereals

adjunct interest

playing for keeps at little cost

payment rendered for goodbyes

a "see" note

scribbled and placed

next to the unused coffee cup

and the shunned slice of toast

he feels he was hired short term

and now has been let go

for another, less expensive love

who won't care

that she never stays for breakfast.

Part time love when you're looking for full time permanent, and vice versa, two minds seldom agree on contractual obligations. Intriguing write Jacob, with a unique title, though one we all relate to.
