reversible trends

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

reversible trends

finality

comes after senility

comes after futility

comes after accountability

comes after plausibility

comes after the possibility

of becoming a liability

because of deniability

that we strove to the best of our ability

to become what we became when we were becoming

what we would be before

finality

Oh, this mortal coil... this poem reels with the continuity of stagnation contradicting itself through circles of inconsequential certainty defied only by the subject, should the subject either choose or submit to becoming

interesting poetic thoughts on "finality", or "trends" in our lives. I too think we are what we have become because of our trying to become more than we are at any given moment in time... some of us make it so to speak while some get stuck in a particular "futility"...

I think too a lot of our attempts "that we strove to be the best of our ability" resides in our poetry, our attempt to write and create. In this we often succeed for more than in a live lived... perhaps another form of "futility"... but Jacob, I see no futility or liability in the poetry you write... it is honest and open and perhaps at time a bit harsh on yourself, but wonderfully written non the less..

and of course we who read are always treated.. thanks Jacob
