shaken gladly

shaken gladly

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

shaken gladly

a loose olive

freed from its martini life

the pit just a gnarled past

the gin, a softly pounding residue

of yesterday's overindulgence of you

a wet coaster,

an ice cubed tear

and i am stirred at the thought

we once drank love from the same

short glass

now just sipping away,

i see that olive slip further from

view,

and bend a smile its way.

I'd definitely switch brands, continue on the martini trail, never look back now that's a toast for a poet such as you.

Regards,
Al
