notes and scribbles of you

notes and scribbles of you

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

notes and scribbles of you

cerulean epitaph
from burning embers
your brown eyes rose
tinder free,
love dancing in iris lies

smoke filled promises
and third degree burns
the fulfillment of a candlelight wish
and then darkness,

a few loose guitar strings
melting with your aura
stinging me with the heat of your memory

in those blue skies
your gaze
imprinted on the soul of my heart
cold towels in my mind
placed in your stead

but i still feel you close to me
long after the flames have subsided
and the hard rain quelled the ashes

so there is no sound left
of what you were
and the edges of the picture
are singed
with your breath on my shoulder...

These lines stood out for me

smoke filled promises
and third degree burns
the fulfillment of a candlelight wish
and then darkness,

Another masterpiece

We forget the bad parts of a relationship and leave the good parts on a pedestal. Not sure why that is....but another song comes to mind, "can it be that life was all so simple then or has time rewritten every line?" We remember the passion....and wish it had never waned. Wonderful. Lydi**

oh if we could relive those moments in the flesh, it is a good reminder to cherish each moment, for it's the one's you truly cherish that will never be repeated ..

There are some stories and memories in our lives too powerful to be completely extinguished. Even their ghosts have ghosts.

What lives in scribbles are the juxtapositions of beauty, like "are singed with your breath on my shoulder" , here is a wordsmith who knows the how scribbles work best.

Al
