Whether or weather not...the duality of the statements provokes deeper thoughts. We look at one thing but see another. I'm afraid we've had too much rain...no, not enough we need more...to nourish questions and answers...and in the end, with all the questions, there is only you...and that's enough.
i love the conflict of the first stanza. rain and drenched attractions but also dry misgivings and drought. it's miscommunicated expectations!
sun but also soaked understandings. it's hope but also drenched answers in return. it corkily reminds me of the CCR song Have You Ever Seen The Rain?
the feeling is that there are only questions and yourself. i had to think twice if you meant "you" as in the other or yourself. my interpretations thinks you mean yourself.
goodness. good poem. your sociological perception on human relations is amazing.

Accurately portrays what we call "life": "only questions and you."
Meanwhile, reality taps its foot and drums its fingers--waiting for more of us to generate the courage
to, simply, open our eyes.
While doubting I've captured your work's original intent, I have enjoyed reading it, very much.
Powerful post, Jacob!

Living in a world of extremes, we long for shades, rather than all being black or white. But finding that middle ground can be a constant battle, especially with the ending suggesting questions without answers, only downpours of thoughts that can only be second guessed at. Who said silence is golden? Perhaps, but there should be a follow up warning that it can also drive us crazy when our mind fixes on the unanswerables..

definitely a world of extremes...no middle ground anymore...no middle class...thank you for your insightful words,

Sharp wordplay here. Some people are impossible to figure out, but if you enjoy their company, well, what's to figure out? I liked the opposites here.....they say opposites attract, n'est pas? Lydi**
Clever play on words Jacob. Drought and downpour hand in hand not easy to contemplate. Odd companions indeed. Having said that opposites can attract. Where love is concerned I guess that nothing is set in concrete.

Love the alliteration flowing through this. The first stanza seems to reflect a wash out day when meant to be at the amusement park. The second that answers given are dry and still do not assist understanding of the situation. So the questions remain unanswered and the protagonist still seeking some closure.
