yup - that's how it usually goes down. some even culminate in guns being fired too. one man's music is another man's noise. i'd definitely be seeing a pink slip. each decade seems to chant its mantra until it is heard ... :)
I don't know Jacob.
"can't afford so much kindness
and please,
shut that damn music off."
Maybe with time. We need and want less? Thank you for sharing your amazing poetry and your thoughts.

When old age. We learn. We don't need everything. You are welcome Jacob.
Sounds like a refusal to grow, choosing not to put in the effort for something that is good and pure.If work related the harsh reality of being let go when you're not needed anymore, regardless of any commitment, loyalty and respect shown to the company. It happens so often now.
Downsize - often used with material items but in your poem means the opposite of material value and wealth, but there's a downsizing of values, morals and kindness.
Shut that damn music off
Music - freedom, liberation, connection.
Someone is trying to shut it down... but, faintly in the distance, I know it's still playing.
Best wishes,
Laura.

Lol...so much illusion when it comes to face to face these days. They don't even bother with practicing their slight of hand. Hell I would turn the music up and wait for security.
somehow the movement just died out...and with it, the music that drove us through it all.
