appraisals and reprisals

appraisals and reprisals

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

appraisals and reprisals

stuff the truth

down a massive throat of consequence

the bullies ride the waves

of flags strewn in haste

intrusions

of broken incentives

ugly rumors collapse with irreverence

justice is an empty promise

the litigation

is in the love for life

stuff the truth

the heart is too full to move

 already.

I really hope with irreverence for the rumors spread by the ugly in our society we can break their incentive.Somehow stuff the truth down their throat. This is a powerful poem.

Thank you, Bill....
Yes! Whose truth? Not asking the poet but the masses, everyone thinks they are right and just and therefore justice should be on their side and people have lost heart and sell their souls, it’s ugly out there. I haven’t lost faith entirely but I have lost faith in our justice when life is so easily swept under the carpets of law. Not sure if I’m on target with this one, I’m tired but that’s what I got. As you frequently tell me it’s for the reader to interpret of course in the morning after coffee I may see something different;)

What is truth? The ultimate existential question. Justice, true Justice is only found in the afterlife.
Well written, J.
