A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Spontaneously lit

I am banging on your door

in futility

you are inside

reading by candlelight

a biography of some lame hero

you adore in your unpublished dreams

and I am the insignificant extra in the movie

that you don't peer closely enough to see

I keep banging on your door

until, red fisted, and blue hearted

I stalk away in shame

that I ever loved you this much

wishing I could snuff out that candle

so you could see me

with my dark heart glowing.

Thank you, Julie,

An amazing poem with great impact. I take it as an irksome thing or 'what a waste thing' if someone we hold dear does not see our true value. They are looking at a candlelight but can't see the sun. Preoccupation with the small matters instead of looking at the big picture of life, love, connections....
Wowzy Sir Jacob.
We all see your light shinning through. No worries.

You are welcome sir Jacob.
Mmm, love this one, J. How you're made to feel, standing there. Oh, to handle a candle!

"Unpublished dreams" ..now that alone is worth the ride. The visuals of anarchy and frustration, is it love or hate? The question is what makes this poem pop...and "candles" still work after all these years...amazing, isn't it?! Beautiful read J.

My pleasure j.
No one wants to be second fiddle in someone's life. A source of frustration and upset when another is getting all the attention and you barely get any crumbs. An excellent write J. Enough to make anyone bluehearted if they are on the receiving end.
