A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

writer

poe i tree

ray vens perch

sun blackens

with the murder of crows

a black bird stretches

its pen

and writes

poe i tree

to a reader lying perfectly still

there might be a perceived heartbeat

but only in his mind.

I often perceive a beating heart in your poetry. This is such a fascinatingly worded poem.

Looking forward to your return soon...
I would still write if all the readers were dead. Writers write because they are compelled. I like the clever play on words here J and the darkness. Very Poe like.
