A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

learning the last lesson

you drifted into silent wood

six years to this day

my name a flicker in your memory

I spoke to you while you slept

no reply

but I know you were there

I heard birds

whisper

reflections of your life

I felt the tremor in the windswept trees

your voice only an imagined inspiration

as I wrote your poem

and you read it in the eternal dream

that summed up

a final page or two

we shared.

A beautiful, heartfelt piece of writing for someone it seems was very special. Wonderfully written.

thank you, will,

I do believe that sometimes the Dead can appear to us in Dreams. This Piece is powerful, and has a surreal quality, like a haunting Song or Melody. Excellent ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

thank you, red,

This one is about loss, but I can't tell whether it's death or separation. I suspect the former. The sense of finality is too strong to be anything else.I believe closure has been achieved, but some things never totally vanish from memory.

thank you for your words, John,

I have experienced similar when I lost my mother. This is exceptionally beautiful. There is much love here and it brought a lump to my throat dear J. The natural environment became more alive to me as my mother passed over. I will always remember the amazing cloud movement that day. Islands in the sky with a splash of sunburst. She was on a journey.

Hi Jacob,
I always enjoy reading your words...
This feels like someone you loved very much, that has passed.
It reminded me of the last day I saw my mother...

You are most welcome.
dear Jacob... I saw my first Robin Red-breast this Spring.
Nature is stirring and Winds are blowing.
The Sky is cloudy with Silver linings.
Be still and listen to my Heart.
tenderly, Pat

The eternal dream doesn't sound quite so bad right now, other than the pain it leaves behind for others.
The thought of being the breeze whispering through branches will make me think differently next time I hear it.

Such a beautiful whisper, jacob, but loud enough. You know its echo will last for ever and ever. Amen
