at the old poets' clinic

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

at the old poets' clinic

there is a thought out in the waiting room

reading National Geographic

thinking how dull is non-fiction

when there is love to write about

and peace

and friendship

and love

and love

and then the voice over the intercom

breaks the silent train's track

"the poet will see you now"---

How creative and what fun. A poet clinic. I’d want to know who I was visiting before I booked an appointment. Your National Geographical line had me laughing out loud. Yes, that’s what I read in the waiting room.

I loved this and had to laugh out loud. Yes, the poet will see you now. Decide your fate and that of a thousand other thoughts like you. Be prepared for the worst. He is a hard taskmaster and so unpredictable! That you even get an appointment is a mercy. You're a brilliant poet, dear Jacob!

Indeed, dear Jacob. Yet when he does recruit a thought, an amazing poem is certain!

Hello Jacob. A poet clinic. Is it a nice poet? Lately, I may need to see the poet in the clinic. Thank you for sharing your amazing words and thoughts.

Thank you Jacob.
A hospital for sick poets; now that is brilliant. We need heart surgeon Jacob for treatment and word surgeries.
You might need to join Obama care. Lol
Just kidding.
Excellent and brilliant

You are welcome, j.
Aww Jacob, I love that last line that plays with the title.
I'm gonna have to see if I can join online, or maybe they send you for an inspection at a certain age, like they do with old cars.
On second thoughts, they scrap those cars that fail the test. I don't wanna lose my poetic licence!
Maybe I'll write them a haiku and they'll just let me off with a wag of the finger and tell me to get my prose overhauled. 😊

Now that was really cool. Your vision is what everyone's imagination should look like.
