in a robin's eye

a glint of recognition

Thwarts the worm's progress

thank you, Dave.
if we want to go fishing, we had better catch them before the robins do.
I love robins J. I have on occasions left my kitchen door open to find that a robin has hopped in. Dropped in to say hello. Mostly though they stay close to the pond and the main bed of shrubs where the worms play.

This poem can be read on different levels. I don’t think of robins as having a killer streak.

dear Jacob… like threading the Eye of a Needle … Robins have a sense of timing when the movement in the Earth is Nature’s Gift. Robins were my First Bird acquaintance as a Child and now they Grace my Soul when they arrive in Spring. tenderly, Pat
