A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

shedding replicas of old lovers

folds of empty skin

Blue feelings

the largest organ is not the heart

but the heart breaks the hardest

the puncture bleeds the longest

and the skin is tattooed permanently

with drained color

blue to gray to black

the screen goes blank

the film is over

dry eyes leave the theater

all the tears expended

and the artist

leaves lines like poetry

all over the body

to be read

at the heart's end.

This poem bleeds with emotion. The heart has really suffered here. Not a tear left and the colours are depressing. The skin is tattooed and the heart punctured. Love doesn’t live here any more. A haunting tale of dead romance. Hopefully the poetry will last much longer.
