A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

short-term loan

six poems in six days

April rains a Rembrandt

of word colors

the canvas avoiding spring

until the verse is converse

and the artist

affluent

in arbitrary confusion

suffers his readers

to a constant flurry

from a fleeting

failing quill

the magic

was always momentary.

Our poems are all moments in time. Many of them pass by quickly. I think we are all hoping we can compose a Rembrandt. A poem that lasts and is appreciated years after our demise. This one is memorable j. A relatable piece.

at least for a few months...thank you, dear Chris.

This really explains the exact emotion that’s felt when posting something on here. Very quickly it becomes a thing of “for.” It’s always for something or someone. It’s always just for a moment. -mabel
