fishing for intellectual meteors

fishing for intellectual meteors

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

fishing for intellectual meteors

riffraff scatters

like night crawlers

from a flashlight

beam

poetic thoughts

deemed doable

as bait

to attract readers

gone underground

into hiding

creation reversed

light extinguished

the poet closes his eyes.

Thank you, Dave,

While the ideas are awake, the poet can not sleep. The unwritten lines taunt and tease us till we allow them to live on the page. Good one, Jacob. Lydi**

A poet will keep writing until their days cease and their eyes close for the last time.

This is a creative way to speak of writing and that it will be finished when our lives in this world have come to a close.

There is a feeling of hopelessness in these lines. When creation is reversed and the light extinguished, it doesn’t bode well for the poet who wants to attract readers. We can all dream dear j.

Our feathered friends drop seeds into the Weeds and soon the fields are full of Lillies and wild flowers … the Eagles are gathering to rejoice in a new beginning where Hope is planted. gently, Pat

Let us rejoice with those Eagles,

Sometimes that light won't pick up anything, no matter. how brightly it shines. In fact, the protracted glare might just make the darkness thicker. Switch off the light. Cop some Z's.

Yes, a good idea, John...very good,

As meteors, they flash quickly and pass quickly; a short period as in a blink of an eye.
I close my eyes to reflect within or sleep soundly.
