The Lady On The Bench

The Lady On The Bench

A Poem by Ethan Boroian

How to describe one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen,

A pregnant lady on a bench who is as sweet as can be,

She would always smile, wave, and greet any old stranger,

She feared not a thing, and didn’t believe in danger,

So I asked her one-day “how is it that you are so full of love?”

And she responded, “I’m not really sure, but that I have a lot of”,

This puzzled me for months until the day I discovered,

The lady had triplets; she was a proud new mother,

Thinking back when she was pregnant, I finally understood,

Because four hearts love more, than any one could…

This poem is so eloquently written and beautiful! You are right, you do write clever poems. I love the photography associated with the poem and how it flows. How a mother can give all her love to her children and how you can see the glow she gives out. So beautiful, you have a great talent.

Clever. Well written. I wasn't expecting the ending. I like that you have thought of such a perfect way to describe love.
