Into the Sea
By: Ethan West In a violent storm on bitter breeze A ship of broken, battered trees A man of steel, weathers the storm Brutal, calm, but inside he’s warm He chose a ship of battered tree He chose to face the brazen sea He chose to stay On faith they say That if he gave this ship his steel The ship would rise and match his zeal And in that union they world form A ship to weather any storm But instead, the ship grew strong Before he knew it, he was gone For it was not the sea, that men should fear But that of the ship, they try to steer For while he gave, the ship gave none Took all he had, took all he won And as his broken form Stood pierced with wood, his heart adorned The ship opened up, and carried me Dropped me down, into the sea © 2025 BorealPoetAuthor's Note
