what they don't tell you

what they don't tell you

A Poem by Juzo

they tell you that love will heal your wounds
that your scars will disappear;
so each time we kissed, i thought
it would fix me
but i was still cracked
and i thought we needed to give it more time
because glue takes awhile to dry
but the day never came where i could keep my pieces in place
and you walked away because we tore each other in two.
i drank until i forgot my name
but i always remembered yours.
i smoked until i forgot what oxygen felt like;
i wanted to die, so i tried to die.
i burned everything of you
but with it, the remnants of me.
they tell you that love will heal your wounds-
they don't tell you that it will swallow you whole
