Let's paint a picture or write a letter,
Why do we think we need to do better?
Let's bake a cake or plant a tree,
Why can't we be happy and free?

Let's read the books for there's not enough time,
With oceans to cross and mountains to climb.
Let's cherish the simple pleasures out there,
With the stars in our eyes and wind in our hair.

Let's lay on the grass next to the flowers again,
Soak up the sun and drench in the rain,
For the winter of our life is not so kind,
So, let's catch all the smiles that we can find.

okay here is the reason or reasons that i love this poem.

I am old school, a kid in the fifties...life was simpler then. And I happen to like simple.
and i have always appreciated the little things in life...they add up, and each means so much.
I know i am getting older, but i have lots of moments to remember and cherish...and i have logged them into my mind.

Simple pleasures for carefree days. Most of the time we are too busy to participate in some activities. We need to slow down. Corona virus and being locked in means we have more time on our hands. I have been baking more and enjoying it. Spending time in the garden and lapping up the sunlight. I enjoyed your lines Fairy. Take good care of you.
