Oh, the rain

How long shall we stay, love?

The rain's pouring down ever so lightly

pressing shards of glass into our backs

one by one and slowly at that,

how long did you say?

{I'd stay here forever if you asked me to,

The rain feels like showers of my love for you,

showers I'll never get the chance to feel again.}

How long will you hold me here, dearest?

The lightness has rained rainbows of lust, you know,

pouring the words from my eyes as if tears escaped,

but it's just the rain, I know it's just the rain.

{Why do you shield my eyes from the lightning, precious?

Why do you cup your hands over my ears to break up the thunder?

Why do you smile lightly, when you know it only hurts me?}

How much longer will we drench ourselves in rain, darling?

Do you feel the same feeling as I do, when you stare into my eyes?

Do you feel the same feeling as I do, like the world threatens to consume you,

but you'll do anything but allow it, when you're standing here with me

In the rain?

{My clothes are wetting down further, sweetheart,

I don't know how much longer we can stay, before the waters sparkle further,

and show you my broken heart you're not supposed to see,

but you knew didn't you? You knew from whens we came.}
