A pool of satisfaction

A pool of satisfaction

A Poem by Derrek Wesley Steven Gaspard
"

"I wrote this while at work", confessed the administrative assistant.

"

I am thirsty

No matter how much water I drink

Sooner or later I'm thirsty again

This fellow, a straightforward clean shaven sort

referred me to this pool

that brings satisfaction to those

who submerge

I'm at the pool now

It is cool here, the pool has mellow tranquil lighting

I am the only one around, it is well past midnight

I'm thirsty

I walk over to the edge of the pool

and dip a cupped hand in

I drink the water

It's full of chlorine

I've decided not to take a swim

Because, then, I would be thirsty and have dried out skin.
