Starting My Day

Starting My Day

A Chapter by Fauzia

‘Time to wake up’

I heard someone call my name, and let me tell you it’s annoying

‘Honey, come on, time to wake up’

Ok one more time I heard that sound again, I’ll probably blow up

“JASMINE ELLETA SEBASTIAN” someone yell at my ear

“Hah?” I yell back with full of shock

“Morning birthday girl” says my mom with a wide smile on her face

“Ugh seriously mom, it’s too early” I said while walking to the bathroom to wash my face

“Morning? It’s already 7.30 sweety” says my mom

Hah?

I ran out of the bathroom and look to my hello kitty clock, and it’s already 7.35.

Uh oh, I’m in trouble

“Oh my gosh, I’ll be late for school” I yell

“Well, good morning to you too, I have to go to work now. Your birthday present is downstairs, bye honey” says my mom while exiting from my bedroom

“Yeah yeah yeah” I said, getting my white towel and hair clipper and getting inside the bathroom again and take a shower

-10 MINUTES LATER-

Wow, very refreshing for a rush bath, to top it off it’s also my birthday plus the first day of school. Great just great. I then walk straight to my walk-in wardrobe, and quickly wear my school uniform, a blue cardigan, and my black Nike shoes. Also my blue sky Jansport bag, and quickly exit my room and immediately went down for breakfast.

Once I got down, I went straight to the dining room.  When I was there I saw three of my best friends are standing in front of me while carrying a red velvet cake

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY SLEEPING BEAUTY” said the three of them

Of course I was happy, I mean who wouldn’t?  Three of my friends are, Audrey, Helena, and Keisha are already at my house bring a birthday cake, and to top it off at the morning before school.

“Wow, thanks guys. But..” I was about to say something, but Audrey cut me off “No buts, breakfast in the car, because today’s the first day of school so come on” while taking both of my hands out of the house.

“Don’t worry we’ve already take permissions from your mother, and she says yes” says Helena

“Nanny, could you please put the cake in the refrigerator? Thank you” says Keisha while opening the door

“Okay, let’s go to school” says Audrey without patient

We soon entered the Honda Jazz car. Helena drives the car, Audrey sits at the passenger seat. While me and Keisha sis behind them eating some KFC chicken for breakfast.

“Sorry if the food’s KFC, min” says Helena while driving

“It’s alright, I don’t mind, cause I haven’t eat breakfast” I said with my mouth full of rice

After breakfast, we just chat and joke around while playing our phones. Fortunately we’re already at the crossroad, so we only had to wait 10 minutes to get to school

-10 MINUTES LATER-

And I was right

10 minutes later we are already in front of the school’s parking lot. Why aren’t we parking the car? Good question. It’s because the parking lot is filled with bunch of cars and students outside it’s almost like a highway, to be honest. But good thing we found a spot to park the car, not too far away from the school building.

“Wow, is this a parking lot, a market, or a zoo? Cause it seems to me, its super crowded” shouted Audrey

“Oh come on, you’re wasting time, shouting in the middle of the crowd like a crazy person” replied Keisha

“Guys stop fighting, and let’s go to school, you’re both wasting all of our times” says Helena. I just laughed and said nothing, cause I don’t want to get my a*s kicked.

When we were in front of the building, what Audrey said was true ‘So crowded’. It’s like an army of new students that are lining up at the school canopy. Oh yes, pardon me for not telling you about our school. We go to Charlesons East Private School, a private yet exclusive school, and also one of the best schools in Jakarta.

We were walking towards the school’s entrance, when suddenly someone bumps to Audrey until she fell down to the floor.

“Hey, watch where you’re going” someone says, I think it’s a girl’s voice

The three of us helped Audrey without seeing who the person was. When Audrey stood, we look back and it turns out the person or shall I say that girl is Olivia Kristent. She’s an annoying, self-centered, yet arrogant person, because her mother is a model and her father is a successful lawyer in Jakarta

“Well, look who we have here. Hi Audrey, how are you?” asked Olivia

“Was good, until I was bumped by a certain freak who didn’t apologize” said Audrey

“Oh, so you’re calling me a freak? It’s clearly your fault, why the heck should I apologize?” replied Olivia

“Forgive her Olivia, she didn’t meant freak, but a psychopath” said Helena. Because of that, we all laughed while Olivia and her friends looked angry.

“Whatever losers” said Olivia, while walking away with her friends, leaving the four of us

The four of us just laughed and entered the school. We went to the second floor and walk into class 12A. Surprisingly, the four of us are in one class. When we were approaching to our desks, Ms. Carsten, I’m guessing our class homeroom.

“Good morning students. My name is Ms. Carsten, but you already know that. I’m now this class’s homeroom” says her, while putting her laptop at the teacher’s desk

See I was right

“Morning miss” replied all of us, meaning the whole class

“Okay, we’re just going to try to have fun, let’s talk about your vacation. Starting from absent number one, Abby Warmen”

Wow, this should be interesting. A boring yet maybe fun way to start the first day of school
