A modern day rant.

pressing mute 

the morning news becomes

digitized wallpaper

temporarily devoid of moronic views

media plastered in white plastic smiles

it's all about trends

and today's latest styles

grinning automatons pat 

each other’s hair-sprayed heads

puppets pretending 

their lines really aren't read

silly jaws wagging 

news pictures flashing

that bottled-blonde news babe

always gets my teeth gnashing

without even hearing a single word she said

another morning

another day

more internet frauds

more exposés 

blogging a*s-holes

always blogging away

any idiot with a computer is 

an expert today

silent poisons 

are seeping through

wi-fied airwaves are infecting you

Nomophobia clutching

yet another unsuspecting mind

orgies of technology

wired masses mainline

pressing mute

i fade away

smashed my computer 

just yesterday

i'll watch the world

safe inside my head

a retro-metro 

living amongst the dead

untangled from the web

disconnect from the show

i gave up the ghost

by just letting go

There was a time when things were simpler and not so fake and annoying so I would have to agree with your views. Technology may have improved certain things in our lives but made it worse in others.

I'm surprised the earth doesn't glow from all the electronics that have been invented for our comfort. Or should I say their profit. I don't ever remember having to pay for TV or hearing music as bad as what's out there these days.

Ironically though, i thought that stanza was pretty funny.
