Life Ripped Apart

Life Ripped Apart

A Poem by Zach
"

A poem about finding yourself from within the depths of darkness.

"

If I could find myself in the whirlwind that holds me in its eye,

Perhaps I would find I’m not myself these days,

Who could know the truths of a soul torn apart?

Rolling away always as an avalanche on a collision course,

Crashing like waves evermore upon the shore of the sands of time,

Touching and tasting, but never knowing an everlasting verity,

Combing the banks with a surge of resourcefulness that might find me alone,

Willing myself to rise so known out of the depths of everything that is black,

Tracing the crevices born to the earth to define a life from conception,

Take the paths etched in the ash of burnt and scorched remains,

There will I find bits of myself ripped from the core and strewn across rock?

To rebuild a body and harvest the seeds of innocence in the sediment of my soul,

There might I find myself among the living as one who is filled of the void.

This is an amazing poem. The word choice is marvelous. Great job.

Lots of introspection in this emotionally charged write. Moving onward after an illness or a heartbreak is not easy. The "sediment of my soul" will always be there, but you can push it aside and make a better life. Well written psychological words. Lydi**

Thankyou so much for your kind review.
Torn apart we imagine, but we're actually not listening. Splendid read and write.

I love your choice of words. They really pulled me into the writing and in these few short lines, I felt like I was reading a story. The question on the third line - "Who could know the truths of a soul torn apart?" - definitely caught my attention. Still, my favorite lines are:

"To rebuild a body and harvest the seeds of innocence in the sediment of my soul,
There might I find myself among the living as one who is filled of the void."

It's almost paradoxical in its insight. To be filled with the void and yet stand among the living...

Wow. This is, I believe, a wonderful and beautiful explanation of all the feelings we as human beings are going through. When we are trying to understand the meaning of life - the meaning of us.
