Is like no other

its a peaceful fullfilment

that lights you from within.

 

It Transports you

to strange and wonderful places

Some you've heard about

some you never could have dreamed of

even in your wildest dreams

 

It can take your stress away

and leave you in a happy place

 

It settles around you

like an old familair Blanket

Comforting you and soothing you

in ways only reading can

I agree. My collection of favorite books collection is over 300. I will need a room for my books soon. Books are old friends we can read over and over again. Learn something new each time. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I'm sure that conversation was a good one. Reading is one of my favorite things to do. They're always there for you when you want them. They're the reason most of us are here. Good poem.

My soothing blanket is Jesus
so when I read the bible it is like
a warm safe place.




but I love reading other books I love Edgar Allen Poe
William Shakespeare and have read much of Robert Frost
I want to get some of his books I am addicted now LOL...
my other favorite is shel silverstein Light in the attic loved
reading him as a child.

You're welcome. it was a enjoyable ready :). it's quite inspiring :) that's other reason I read the bible like food :) knowledge understanding. but I have done writes on scripture that speaks of the Tongue being like the pen a ready writer well on of them it is beautiful. :) Psalms45:1 My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak the things which I have made touching the king: My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

I meant for me it isn't a Religion it is a relationship. I used to call the earth that goddess but for me I was quite lost as I was raised in a Christian home but for me I know the lies of the world I am a quite loving soul. Jesus is the light of life for me. but I do hope you find what you're looking for in life. have a blessed day.

Obviously, you have no husband or kids who need you're attention. Once you have kids, you will never spend days at a time just reading.

plus WHen I did read all day it was back when I was in High school over summer breaks... Back when I was like 14 and too young to get a job. I would spread out a blanket in my backyard and read all day

No offense intended. It's just a statement of fact: kids absorb a lot of time and cannot be put off. When it was just my husband and me, I could spend a day or three reading, no big deal. As long as he could sit near and be with me, it was fine.

But… kids require undivided attention. No less will do. They're very existence is dependent upon you.

I did that during college breaks -- find a great spot and spend the entire break reading.

Yes I know... he may not have been my child but I use to babysit my little brother all the time and he depended on me when I was.... SOmeday though I do hope to have children. Always wanted to be a mommy.. ever since I was a little Girl.. :-D

I wouldn't change a thing! And, you don't give up reading, you just have to portion it out. You'll be reading a lot of kids books for/with your child. I read to my boy all the time. And, he's now an avid reader: at 10 years old he reads and comprehends on an earl college level.
