The end of the world was coming in the yeare 2000,
Many people panicked and Media had the news spread.
Bomb shelters made and food closets were stocked,
while some grabbed covers and hid under their bed.
The ball dropped when the clocked striked twelve,
And we all were still cheering and here.
The scare was nothing but in our little heads,
so people danced, laughed and drank a beer.
The celebration ended, how sad to say,
when September of 01 came bushing on by.
No one had thought the Twin towers would fall,
when a plane came crashing up in the sky.
The country was slapped straight across the face,
When thousands of people died that fateful day.
For a short time the country had bonded together,
making sure terrorists would not get their way.
2000 was not all bad, I am just stating facts,
In 2002 another member of my family was born.
Another girl, which made my sisters up to seven,
Poor dad, wanting a boy he was torn.
President Bush wasn't doing a good job for the country,
But I was thirteen and that wasn't on my mind.
My town had faced a tradegy that still haunts many today,
The man who did it got life, a sentence all too kind.
2004 came rushing by and New England finally could cheer,
Eighty six years of losing the cup and coming home full of shame
The Red Sox kicked Yankee butt in historic proportions,
We won the World Series and were no longer lame.
Highschool was a new door to be opened in 2005,
For the first time in my life I became fresh meat.
Scared out of my mind we little freshmen were,
but I broke out and followed the drum of my own beat.
An economic downfall had happened in this decade,
Thousands of people are losing their jobs,
Homes foreclosed and banks bankrupt,
America is still full of sobs.
The biggest election ever to be held happened in 2008,
History was in the making but I couldn't vote.
Palin, Mcain, Biden, and Obama did clash to win.
Obama was victorious bringing Hilary on his boat.
Now this is the last o something for awhile
09 is here and who knows what that will bring.
A new president has a nation to bring together,
In the books he might be remembered as King.
As the nation begins to fix its wounds,
I have my own journy to travel as well.
From being ten years old to womanhood,
Graduation day rings its bell.
