"

One of my favorite influences....

"

I sit amongst many strange people in this dark place. It is somewhat quiet, although there is some incoherent babble. Strange, somewhat pleasant smells surround me. More and more people are scurrying in from the light behind me. They too find a need to dwell in this symmetrical, but dimly lit, somewhat ‘sticky’ environment. It seems now that everyone has arrived. – I hear faint scattering noises above and behind me, as if someone was frantically searching for something of importance. Then nothing. Quiet. The people that were now gathered have hushed down. Something was about to happen. Then all of a sudden, the wall in front of me lit up, flashing on the screen was ‘Directed By Joel and Ethan Coen’. Then the opening credits to a movie followed, and I was sitting, in the back of a movie theater.

As I began to read this, my curiousity was going. I re-read this again, after I realized you were in the movie theatre. I think this is an exceptional description of a theatre. Even more intriguing, is how humans long for movies. Movies serve as an escape, if only a temporary fix. You have a very abstract way of thinking, and I admire that!

You lost me at the end. I enjoyed it more when it allowed my mind to wonder "where the hell is he?" I like the mystery you started with.

A big giant step into No-Man's Land, is what I gleamed from reading this story of yours. Though it feels more like a monosyllabic poem than it does as a story. Very surreal and immpresionistic, if you ask me.
