United States

United States

A Poem by James Paulin

Cheer for the red, white and blue

Important these colors ring true

Freedoms of choice and liberty

Defended with blood and bravery

Celebrate and revel in our free nation

Improve it no matter your station

The foundation is tested and strong

Embrace values held dear so long

Millions still seek the American tag

Narrow minds scorn and burn our flag

Peaceful demonstration our duty

Therein lies the greatest beauty

Purple mountains and shining sea

Exist other than the land of the free

Rights to worship, work and elect anew

Unite all living under red, white and blue

I agree with your words. We live in a place where every man or woman can do what they want or desire. I told my children. Only limit we have here in the USA. Is what do you want out of this life. A powerful and beautiful poem.

I loved the powerful message which sings off the page words so eloquently written from a wonderful mind.
Yes we should be proud of our nations heritage going back since the romans, saxons, vikings, celts, picts, norsemen, angles, jutes, pagans, well did i miss someone out ? ah yes THE LITTLE OLD RED INDIANS founder members of your great nation natives of the wonderful vast territories.
You have indeed written a powerful poem which gives much food for thought, it is just a pity that so many servicemen must die in vein for the causes of others namely the war that rages in the gulf, well done.

If only it were as simple as that. I applaud your patriotism but the american dream has lost its glitter
