Perfect Girl

Perfect Girl

A Poem by A Flawed Person
"

I'm clearly new to writing and just wanted to post some more stuff, I guess. This is about a guy I loved and how I thought he loved me but didn't.

"

He made me feel flawless,

Like I was the only one in his mind;

I now know that was a lie.

The late night calls,

The endless compliments,

How we loved all the same things;

I thought he was the one.

And I thought he felt the same;

I was wrong.

He found someone else;

The perfect girl.

All those memories of us,

Thrown away.

Everything I thought we had,

Tossed aside.

For her

All I want is the best for him;

I just wish I was the best in his mind.

I want to be his perfect girl.

You express emotional truth, however I feel this could be improved with more specifics. For example, what was one of the same things that you loved? Strawberries, Charlie Chaplin movies, laser tag? The more specific your writing, the truer it will ring.
