Four Translations

Four Translations

A Poem by Floundering About

Y

on the right

trees go

Y Y Y Y

wires dipping

up and down

not so fast:

the spaces between

Ys are

well

I’m not much of a typographer

neither it seems

is the road

it’s an old problem:

how to get

from one Y

to another?

it’s not snappy

Y

not?

Why

on the right?

Trees say

Y Y Y Y

wires dipping

wires dipping

what’s between

Y and

Y is

between Y and

well

Y

old problem:

how to get

one Y

from another?

not by snapping

Why

not?

Y.

On the right

trees pass.

Y Y Y Y

do wires dip

up and down?

The spaces between Y

aren’t so fast.

Neither

is the road.

How to solve an old problem

with another Y?

Don’t snap your way out.

Y

not?

The not right

trees go by slowly

Y

Y

Y

Y

Wires not dipping

up and down

not moving at all

The spaces between

are

well

nothing but typography

So it seems

is the road

There’s an old problem

How to reach

from one

to another

without snapping?

Can’t?
