You

You

A Poem by LeeAnne Elizabeth

Why did you have to say goodbye?

You couldn't hold on for one more day?

I bet you knew that I would cry

And you knew I would ask why

And you kept me from giving it away

I was blind until you had to go

You showed me everything I needed to see

You told me everything I needed to know

But you never made it come slow

When you took away my best quality

You made me scared of myself

You made me afraid to look into the mirror

Couldn't you tell I was someone else?

And couldn't you se that I wasn't well

You know, my final days were looking clearer

I think you showed the worst of me

You gave me the worst obstacle

But then you showed the best I could be

You didn't leave until I could see

That you gave me a one-of-a-kind miracle
