rain drops are falling from the tree

the wind is blowing the leaves to the west

through the mess of twigs and sticks

a baby bird's head peeps through a hole

 

waiting for the sun to shine

the little bird looks at the watery ground

even though the world seems cold

she always has a little piece of faith

 

there are times when she feels alone

and times when she seems so happy

but underneath it all

she only yearns for one thing

 

she seems scared in her little home

the world pities her but she's not alone

right now she seems cold

but deep down she is warm

 

right now she is sad

but someday that sadness will go away

but she needs to wait

because the day is far away

 

she must remember

that some day the sun will shine

for when the time comes

daddy bird will come home
