Affection

Affection

A Poem by Daniel Fourie

Day in, Day out
My heart gets torn apart
but stops just before I lose everything

So that it can be mended and broken
Again and again

Turns into months, then years
How long will it take for me you to give me
the little affection I need

I'm not asking for much
maybe a smile, maybe a hug

What ever it is, big or small
My life will be made

Trust me
Even a little's enough
