Mancoism

Mancoism

A Poem by Daniel Fourie

You see me as a ghost
Even though I speak like most
Unless I'm wrong
and all I write are sad songs

Maybe it's time to admit defeat
Cause I'm so over being beat

Liking someone like you
has left me broken and not new

I know I'm not good enough
Even though I'd give you all my love

I wish I'd known
that from the start
I should have left you alone
Instead of sitting here with a broken heart

Dude....that first verse hit me hard. I can just feel the doubt, confusion, and regret in this whole thing. In my opinion making someone feel something that is yours yet universal is the best kind of writing. Great write!

Nice, Dan. No crit. I like it. Very sincere. Your essays should feel more like this - I don't mean lyrical - I mean simple language that expresses exactly what you mean and feel. Good apostrophes!
