Nostalgia

Nostalgia

A Poem by FreezingIris

Remember me, my love

When you see my face

Remember a smile with a touch of grace

Think fondly, my dear

Of the sweet nothings we shared

Of the risk that we took, when no one else would have dared

My sweet, reminisce of the days long past

When you and I were new to this thing called love

And when all of our dreams weren’t scattered above

A blush would be shared, a shy kiss stolen

Our hands would be held, when no one would see

And the days of conversation, under our special tree

Remember me, darling

With a fondness for us

And always know that we thrived on trust

Though words no longer, can I prescribe

To make your day brighter, or lighten your smile

And this mourning period, it may last a while

I know right now, you’re broken and hurting

But, love, please, do not feel bad me!

I am in heaven, and filled with unending glee!

I am waiting for you, for the day will arrive

When we meet under those gates of pearl

Remember me, sweetie, for events will unfurl!

When you come sidling up the way you do

And smile that crooked smile that melts my soul

Meeting me here, you will fill the small hole

In my heart that has been here, since I left the Earth

I miss you, my sweetheart, I’m waiting for you

With open arms, and unfading memories of you, too!
