This province is named Alberobello, which means beautiful tree in Italian.
On December 7th 1996, the UNESCO inserted the "Trulli of Alberobello" into the list of world wonders: "to be protected and preserved as unique and exceptional marks of a disappeared civilization and cultural tradition, offering an example of building techniques relative to a meaningful historical moment, constituting an example of human dwelling representative of a culture". Please enjoy!

Ah Frieda this is absolutely stunning - the magic in your words bring this piece to life in my room, if only I could be there in reality, sounds like heaven on earth, doll.
Just reading this it is obvious how much love you have for this place. The images and wording make it sound and look beautiful. I loved it.
Flip flops & all that jazz!

Lots of good memories too, Lee and I had so much fun when we were on that trip. Thanks so much, this one is very special to me.
as an egyptian who is fond of ancient civilizations wherever they have been stablished, i relly feel speechless when i stand in front of any of those great artifacts which are a real human heritage. i feel speechless when i imagine how those huge buildings have been built at the tim when there were no instruments or machines. i feel the glory of those ancient people who spent alot of time to leave for us something we remember them with. i have read alot about the Roman Empire Civilization. i know how much it was great. we even have some of the Roman ruins here in Egypt.
i hope i can thank you enough for writing this wonderful peom about one of the greatest historical sites in the world...and for sure it deserves to be one of the ancient world wanders as i think your poem is one of the modern world wonders.
and again, i have similar writings about egyptian ancient civilization..
Thank you for taking me there! I too had never heard of this place, and can only speculate as to how the beauty would inspire, how such an environment could rise to be a backdrop for special secret trysts of magical proportions. And I do believe in magic you know.
Wow dear soulsis, trees are very special to me, I even hug them, lol, you can ask Somerista......all trees have special rings, of age, and time to trancience.... it is indeed line the human dwelling representative of a "What of a Culture " if all is mixed (now days for me in the Netherlands is...) and no religious force is spread out, but a merge of what we are all the same, even on christmas time..... it makes questionmarks tho those who hate my words, and belief right, (in their own belief) but, who not understand, those simple minded who still look worldish, cosmopotian, further then their own holy country...... yes YOU who read.. YOU, should know. :P LOL
This love is a beautiful togetherness of the Trulli of Alberobello, I've seen, those houses are the best of whole Italy" near Bari.... yes... sono felice che mi hai fatto vedere questo pezza d'poezia, cara mia..... sometimes I write the language of heart in between, it's all out of a good heart love, I so adored this write,
you've colored this "wonderland" in exciting and vibrant hues. You've also seemed to have sparked an interests of more than a few readers ... myself included. Well done.
You turn it into a kind of carnal Disneyland... but with more style and panache. I liked the dream/mythical quality of the picture you painted and the sensual freedom that is part of the vision adds a special edge to this unusual Paradise....
I've never heard of this place (I don't get out much...) and after I read your wonderful description I had to see for myself. My goodness, you do it such justice, I want to go there! Nicely done my friend...

Your visit to the Itria valley has trulli made an impression. This is so wonderfully descriptive, although I could not work out if the affair was real or just you falling in love with such a beautiful and unique place?

If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
