dearly departed, we are gathered here 

 spewing words of goodness

 upon the arrival of your demise

those of us that loathed the ground you walked~ 

 all that you desecrated, devoured and decimated, 

will find a kind word since you have passed

there is such acceptance in death 

once dead, a thousand pardons in your honor 

~may we rest in peace~

Yeah, I tromp all over the dead and never look back -- if you were an a*s when you were here, you are an a*s when you're gone -- don't care about speaking ill of the dead -- hence, the "feel good song of the year" for me is Bobaflex "I am glad you're dead."

From the first line, I thought of a wedding, but then thought it'd be the opposite. I feel this would be something appropriate for a funeral or burial of a loved one or friend. That's what I pictured; a priest reciting this. Very powerful words here, wonderful job!

I hated my grandmother all my life, when she died I was very happy, but at her funeral I spewed lies 'I'll miss her', 'she'll be missed', 'she was a remarkable woman'. Is it kind of like that?

Paying lip service to those gone? Or ideas gone? For the purpose of saving face?

Yeah it's exactly that, when an SOB kicks the bucket and all of a sudden everyone has nice things to say about them, I never got that!
