~Pink Polka Dot dreaming...

~Pink Polka Dot dreaming...

A Poem by Frieda P
"

Dedicated to 'our' little noodle, Sye, who won my heart over from the very start.

"

When I was a little girl,
        I wanted nothing more
         than to grow up~
an old soul before my time,
       life lessons taught too soon
Now I'm grown, not much since then,
I want to go back and do it again
this time, it'll  be playing dress up
in pink polka dot high heels
oodles of butterfly kisses &
      smiling swing sets
        aside a chatty, babbling brook
Picture perfect life
is just a myth & fantasy,
a big girl can still dream
    can't she?

Ain't it funny how, when we're kids we just can't wait to grow up, and "be our own boss"????
And then you get there, and sadly discover that you have more "bosses" now than ever before!!
And most of 'em are kids!!!!!

Ahhh, well...tis a pretty dream, Frieda...I have it a lot, myself.
But I never put it into words as well as you have done!
Fantastic write, my friend!!

Thanks Leslie, trying to keep the dreams alive!
To dream the dreams of youth again - but I would not want to go back. I like my "big girl dreams" better, I think. But it is the best message that you have shared with Sye - to hold embrace each dream ad appreciate that all of them are fleeting...

That was such a sweet sentiment, it's always an amazing thing to have someone affect us in such a way. Well done!

And you did a fine job of it.
This is a great piece. You always want what you can't have. When you're young, you want to be an adult. When you're finally an adult, you want your innocent youth back. You just can't win. I enjoyed this. Keep dreaming Frieda.

O f course she can! She deserves to.
We are nothing but children grown up too soon.
Childhood days are so wonderful, it's refreshing to visit them when we can...

These were very touching lines for me...

"this time, it'll be playing dress up
in pink polka dot high heels
oodles of butterfly kisses &
smiling swing sets
aside a chatty, babbling brook

Makes me all the more determined to give my kids the best childhood I can...They are so sweet...so trusting...so pure!

Hear, hear Divya, that's what kids deserve, thanks for your lovely thoughts.
How very sweet!! I remember when I couldn't wait to be 13, and then 16, and then 21 but then life got more complicated and I wished I could go back and wish for them all over again. Such sweet thoughts here - ah, to be so young again!! And yes, a big girl can dream!! We must never stop!
A lovely tribute to little noodle!!!
