~As I Recall

~As I Recall

A Poem by Frieda P

...and you fluttered by me,
the sweet little thing that you were
landed in a puddle of crimson tears
that had pooled around my feet
the moon was full and the air still crisp
             yet I couldn't see clearly
you shared with me the secrets of the ages,
how colors dance,  that fireflies & stars are related,
and feathers are really secret messages from angels
i listened in utter amazement
my eyes no longer a somber shade of grief
you touched my hand
and the universe had begun to sparkle
when you touched my heart
is when the music began to happen
                        i danced fearlessly
on these puddles  that had become crystalline  comfort
my spirit roared with the fervor of galaxy's exploding
   a simple moment,
a shared touched, a revival of soul
it was then I realized the dead of winter had passed,
spring had sprung wildflowers
colored in zest, painted by sunshine
that danced in fields of liquid fire
 my rapture was ignited
in shades of destiny & hues of lusty acceptance
as I recall now, I never even caught your name

Would the woeful secret whispers of the universe be love? The ecstatic jumping of two spirits longing to join, as if destined? Love, at first site?
Twists like yours simply amaze me, and I scarcely have the brain to match. Wondrous poetry, as are all of them~

Ok, this might sound strange but this reminded me of Maslow's hierarchy of needs where the pinnacle is self-actualization. Here a person's full potential is and the realization of that potential. This is such a deeply moving poem.

Thrilled you enjoyed this one Ahmad, thanks.
Such beauty and intensity in this piece. Frieda, I am in awe of your ability to paint these pictures. "I danced fearlessly on these puddles that had become crystalline comfort..." That is an image that will stay with me for the rest of the day. Thank you for sharing!

Wow, I'm really humbled by your review Rita, what a lovely thing to say...much appreciated.
Sometimes it's so simple...a feather blows by...and turns to a musical note...

Sometimes people can't see that either Marie, thanks so much.
I love the imagery in this...how some people can come into your life and give you such feelings. You recall every feeling, but forget their name. Silly some may think, but it makes perfect sense. Sometimes we are so caught up in what they have made us feel that we often forget to ask their name. Again, great write :) Beautiful words.

Holy cats, I'm all goosebumpley now. This is seriously beautiful work. I'm having those last nine lines tattooed on my forearm, in lavender calligraphy. I mean this is next level stuff, lady. Brava...I'm so happy I decided to go backwards today!

No, thanks to you:)
What a beautiful piece, it really has a run to it and gushes out rapidly at you like a spring of water. I very much like 'it was then I realized the dead of winter had passed, spring had sprung wildflowers' and the ending is very clever as it makes it wild and a bit erotic adding another dimension again.
