Swallowed Darkly

Swallowed Darkly

A Poem by Frieda P

A black orchid placed upon the heart
 pricks the skin darkly
bleeding it somber shades of inky sorrow

raining torrents of spent injustice
gardens wilt under grey metallic thunder

drowning  in scarlet's bloody wash of tears
swallowed by a vast ocean of remorse

phases of the dimly lit moon
stir an assault of crashing waves
 metered blitzes of melancholy
roll with the undertow of reflection

overcome by the sweetness of sad lullaby's proffer
 it's siren call to sleep

Since I'm on my phone I couldn't listen to Evanescence while reading this. You're painting in dark tones today my friend. Sending you butterflies to carry you to that beach Nirvana for some positive restoration. This poem packs an emotional punch... another signature piece. :-)

So dark and so breathtaking. I matters not, dark light or vibrant colors, you always know the direct pathway into my soul. Your words are my breath, it comes to take me home. Nice Frieda. But what else would I expect?

It is compared to their earlier stuff haha, more melodic. Idk lol
Pick the black petals and let them wilt. Water and feed the colorful blossoms in your heart and the siren will harmonize to a different tune. This is a sad music, but it is only one song of many.
From an artistic view, you nailed the thought! I actually think this is one of your best laments... Bravo on the write!
Love to the heart that can write of this color and felt the ink stain her lovely soul.

Watch out!!! Frieda is going gothic! Just kidding.... :) I really did like your poem though; one of your darker ones. It's quite refreshing to see poems like yours, poems that say something people might think is weird, or scary, or crazy. I'm glad you write pieces like this. Wonderful work.

Refreshingly dark, I like that! It's hardly weird, it's real life! Thanks Chloe.
The music invites the reader in as he goes on a journey of self reflection and discovery. Beautifully walking the overwhelming path of what it is to be human. I like this poem a lot one of the best i've read lately. So much depth to it.

(sigh),This is beautifully sad. I was gonna hold off on reading this cuz I've been so depressed lately, but I'm glad I read it. I needed a good release. My anger and sadness builds up to over whelming levels where I hold everything in and it hurts even more. I haven't cried since my best friend, my right hand man was murdered in front of me when I was 18 years old. I didn't even cry when my father comitted suicide because I was so angry with him. But today it was meant for me to read this piece and cry.....release

I'm not sure which element of despair I relate to most in this one...I think you've covered all the bases here...the second-to-last sounds a lot like me from yesterday ;P Vivid and intense, which is par for the course when it comes to your writing :)

Muchly appreciated Rita.
I see you only now send me your happy face my lady? As always such deep pathos in words of magic that paint in pallets of black on black. Amy Lee cannot fail to move me.
