Strung Out

Strung Out

A Poem by Frieda P

Like strings on a guitar, you composed a siren song
each chord progression concise and masterfully strummed
intermezzos composition conducted to rhythm of jazzy blues
orchestrated under a fully acoustic half lit darkly moon
my untuned eyes did not see the sheet music had been played
by the heartbreaker maestro of a million sad concertos

I love this line: "the heartbreaker maestro of a million sad concertos." When I read it I could totally hear my favorit ones playing in my head. The imagery is fantastic. And the message is very well laid inbetween such beautiful lines. Sometimes we lose site of/ or fail to see/ the danger ahead, because we get so caught up in the moment. Very well written.

Watch out for those sweet talking men.... Maybe you think you are the only one, the special one... When you realize this maestro has played this song before.... My take may be off, but that's where I'm going with this melody...

Ha name that tune! Winner, winner....
Ah the one that can play our heartstrings to perfection without us knowing and yet still produce their own music.

Ah thought the Bishop had been talking to the actress again.

Ha Bishop...now that would be hysterical, or the house would fall down....
Well, I'd gotten a preview of this poem B)
I love poems about being "played" ;)
It makes your mind dance around with the words.
Just the idea of using all those words about music as metaphors gets me all worked up :P

Yes, needed to add a few more musical beats, glad you danced with me! ;-)
This was beautiful Frieda. Soft and lonely, but beautiful. Music is a part of us all, from that favorite new song to the old ones which stir memories of past loves. If on this guitar of love he only would have played the G-string, I think things would have been a bit happier.

I guess it depends on who's doing the strumming. :)>

I had a few retorts for that, but I'm not touching any of them. ;-P
Magical and musical words. You did a fine job on this one friend. As always, you inspire me. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for the visit Keely.
This has a very melancholy feel to it. Written in blissful words and magic metaphors, as is your style. Such a good read.

Oooh, I have a style, thanks John!
So beautiful, Frieda. I love the idea of music and the way that you wove that concept throughout the entire work. The wording and phrasing here is so moving that I nearly got lost in the read; just allowing the wordds to wash over me. I can always count on you for a strong, concise and well penned write. Thank you for that!

Music is such a big part of life and especially in love, thanks Friday!
"Untuned eyes" - far more dangerous than a tin ear when it comes to heartsongs. You have a gift for putting feelings in such innovative packages, Frieda!
