~Nature's Zest

~Nature's Zest

A Poem by Frieda P

Always full to the brim with beauty
the glass is more than half full
              filled with nature's bounties
   resplendent seascapes beyond compare

take a sip and you will hear
sounds of sapphire oceans lapping up horizon's vistas
sights of sun risings in explosions of awe
moons smiling with a twinkle of the eye
at lovers dancing on sumptuous  skies

        flutterby's flitting their elegant wings
the breath of ambrosia blossom kisses
               posies that whet the view
                                   & nuzzle the heart

          earthy poetry of scenic esprit
                 to embrace the zest,
      drink to your hearts desire
as far as the eye can glean
                    wondrous virtuality abounds
tempting blueprints of life's pure quintessence

Very well penned. I enjoyed this one immensely. As we lose ourselves in nature, it has a way of calming, comforting and bringing us to that peaceful place of existence...if we are still. Loved the imagery, especially your opening lines, so positive and uplifting. And your last lines just leaves me wanting to escape to enjoy the wondrous gift of nature.

Nature well expressed in flowing sips of wine. Playing catch up after Norway!

to embrace the zest,

this poem is soft and ethereal and gentle - it reminds me of lazy southern summers, cicadas buzzing and magnolia infused breezes. I just closed my eyes and let this poem kinda wash over me.

I've said it before, but your ability to jump between emotions and states of mind from poem to poem is something I've always looked up to...it is impossible to single out certain lines that gripped me here...you had me at line one ;P
