Hurricane Glass

Hurricane Glass

A Poem by Frieda P
"

~the winds of truth

"
A steamroller
          with a heart of glass
          stormed in as a hurricane
                destroying
                        everything in your path
            crunching grey matter
cutting like shards of rock crystal
no time to run for cover
shot through, no chance for redemption
                   the tsunami of your desecration
was no match for a mere human soul

                    there's
                                hardly comfort
                                  in the winds of truth

This is really good, it really packs a punch and the imagery you create is vivid.

It's sad how a storm can ruin so many people lives and take so many people away from us. This was a great write, I love how you write. You always write on a topic that is real and happening nowadays.

Great job. And, it makes sense! Ha.

I've known a few hurricanes in my life. Much like the actual weather phenomena they damage everything in their path. The truth of that is hard to face and the hurricane never cares what it leaves in its wake. It consumes and is gone...

Your words always strike me because they are the feelings I'm sometimes unable to express. x

The truth can really be like a hurricane turning your world upside down but in the end no matter the consequence we just have to confront it, get blown away then pick up the pieces and walk an inch per piece as we rebuild our little worlds...great amazing write!

You're welcomey.
Often the truth does hurt, it cuts deep, but always it is something that needs to be discovered, no matter how it makes us feel. I can tell you this truthfully, I loved your poem. Reading you is something I look forward to every day.

Picture this, you are driving down the road, bored out of your mind, you keep flipping stations on the radio just hoping and then it comes on, your favorite song. instantly your mood changes, a smile finds your face and you are singing at the top of your lungs and dancing with the steering wheel and don't care at all who might see you. That is how I feel when I find you have written a new poem, it is like finding that favorite something that brightens your day and tells you...it is not such a bad day afterall.

Your poetry, regardless of the topic moves me. You have such a way with words that makes my eyes dance across the screen. Then, like that favorite song, when the end comes I only want more. You, my friend, amaze me. You truly are a gifted poet and I am proud to read you and call you my friend.

Exactly carol, thanks so much....
The winds of truth can be powerful indeed; yet there are those who will still not listen even when the path of destruction lies wide at their feet. This is an excellent poem Frieda.
