All That's Left~

All That's Left~

A Poem by Frieda P
"

Butterfly haunts me...

"
Butterfly haunts me
flutters by in the dark of night
when the smoke cleared
all that was left was a still photograph
no breath to be had, no words to be spoken
perched upon my mind where no one can see
all the secrets that taunt me
left behind in your spirit
like an erratic zephyr, they twist my head
nothing sacred in how you fled the atmosphere

I oft wonder have you found that freedom
as you floated from this earth
markings on the sky of colorless clues
the painted scenery still not clear
all that's left to do is exhale poetry

A very sad but an ode to your sweet butterfly sister who left the torment of our mundane world and all the suffering in it to find freedom from its prison and hopefully her oasis of love on the zephyrs of blue wonder. May she find her peace...Pen on...:)

The tenderness within your words is palpable, Frieda.

I lost an older sister to the complications of asthma, and there is not a day that goes by that she is not with me. I have infused her memory in some of my work, and I agree with you, that it can be a true catharsis for the soul.

I look forward to reading more from you.

My best,
Kelly

Glad you're back. Missed ya.

I think I just witnessed your last breath. I watched it flutter by in poetic words...letters with flapping wings. Some butterfly's were never meant to be caught. Too beautiful for heaven to share.

Love 'flutter by in poetic words' Muse, thanks muchly, missed you too!
Such a beautiful personification of the butterfly into one of the beloved departed. For me, the last stanza is what really hit the hardest; the questioning of what happens in the beyond and if the butterfly has truly found freedom--I believe that she has. Wonderful, as always, and I am so happy to be reading your words again, my friend!

I love how you compare your sweet Lee with a butterfly, for it's the officially messenger in signs... this write touched me on deeper level dear Frie, you always can reach out to others with your style, and it really grabs my heart.

"I often wonder have you found that freedom
as you floated from this earth"

So heartfelt, we can only hope, hope and hope,
And then trust, and rest in trust...

You did breathe in pain, hurt, and breathe out poetry,
I think Lee is smiling to you, what a touching and beautiful write dear.

Always dear friend, xx
I don't know exactly what you're going through. I have no words for this kind of thing. But I do have words for a sisterly bond. I know that you two will be together again someday, just wait, Frieda, wait.

Every time I read something you have written for your sister it brings a tear to my eye. This was one of the most beautiful that I have read from you. Your poetry always touches me in different ways, but it touches me. I defy anyone to say they missed you here more than I did. Very nicely done Frieda.
