~Sweet Misery

~Sweet Misery

A Poem by Frieda P

Sweet misery~

you tempt me, nothing lasts forever,
consumed by the thorn of your roses
breathing in the essence of toxicity
your poison was my antidote
flipped me over in my time of need
was such sweet misery to be consumed
i breathe you in to get the full effect
dizzy with excitement, reeling inside
yet, I know it'll be my demise
i drank you in like a darkly nectar elixir
there is no cure for lusty resolutions
i die a thousand deaths...

This poem makes me think about how some people are drawn to broken things, and want to help fix them. Those same people are often broken themselves and prefer to help others with their problems rather than deal with their own. Sometimes though, in the fixing of others, we succeed in helping them but get left behind and further hurt ourselves. Sad but true, the glutton for punishment that some of us are. There are some strong lines in this one Frieda and it is thought provoking because of it. Well done.

An awareness of natural events is inspired by your poem. We're eventually consumed by our passions. A star ignites as it consumes itself. A male spider is consumed by his lover. Everything winds down while producing spangles and sparks. Our universe itself is winding down to an eventual Heat Death as it blossoms into galaxies that rise and fall. It's the way of the world.

No cure for lusty resolutions...I hear that my dear...I'm in awe at how you are able to tap into a song and produce something that is uniquely you without sacrificing the spirit of the source...surprisingly I have attempted this very little...actually I don't think I've ever tried this...I don't have the kind of emotional precision that you do to pull it off though...take a bow Mrs.R ;)

And when our souls connect and desire something that is so engulfing, we seldom can refuse so may as well eat the cherry off the cake ;) xx

With pleasure comes pain and sweet misery. What a wonderful penned piece of art, truly expressive and heartfelt. Loved it Fri, well done my friend.

Thanks Traci for this glowing review, muchly appreciated my friend.
With every pleasure is there not also a bit of pain? All of it reminds us that we are alive and able to sense the ecstasy as well as the tortuous. Sometimes we even confuse the two. Well done!

Wow Jack, thanks so much....
What I enjoy here is the contrast between the content and language, written with elegant language it
contains a very hard message, so a nice write indeed !
