~Gentle Quiver

~Gentle Quiver

A Poem by Frieda P
"

on my mind...

"
...and then I paused in the moment
                          to devour the thought

always a gentle quiver on my mind
like a good book, I never want it to end

we closed our chapter with no song or rhyme
prologue memories were steamy and sultry
   moonlight smiles were tender rapture

introductions to dreamy blissful intensity
intentions of our prelude to make it to the finale

as fairy tales go there was no happy ending
our final chapter closed without a kiss

still, when I think of you in quiet moments
you are always a gentle quiver in my mind

I simply love how you do love, or at least love of before, in this case. Your words always have a certain silkiness to them, smoothly flowing across our eyes in alluring and sensuous stanzas. It is really hard for me to put my finger on the correct words to describe your style of writing except to say...this is definitely a Frieda. Amazing my friend.

A gentle quiver is quite the way to describe that feeling. A memory that can spark that butterfly feeling just at the thought. I'm going to stop there before I get myself in trouble. lol But I know what you mean ;).....sigh

This is elegant. Looking back without regret...just a gentle quiver. Lovely.
The song is the perfect accompaniment to the poem.
Sensual...but not too much...
You have outdone yourself on this one, Pretty Lady...

Loved the sensuality & romance within this fine write. Great work Frieda. A loving & poignant read. :)

Frieda's (ink)well. The woman at the (ink)well. The many compelling words that spring from your deep well, Frieda. Sleepless in New Jersey...and you write. Sunburned and wind-scarred...and you write. Swept adrift in contrary seas...still you write. Dressed only in the nakedness of honesty...still...you write.
I am led to believe that once love is born in a woman's soul it never really dies. Blessed and cursed is the man who receives such a living gift. Blessed because he receives a gift that will not die; cursed because most men don't understand how to appreciate and cultivate such a gift.
Thank you for sharing this moment, dear Frieda.

Heavy sigh....bittersweet loveliness, Frieda. The metaphor of the book was great and the artwork you chose to accompany your words is gorgeous. What a wonderful package! Lydi**

When touched....in our hearts....it never loses intensity, lovely! x

I loved how you first started with the ellipsis, it makes you think about what might have happened before the poem starts. Also loved the metaphors and the whole idea of the poem!

MMMMM! I love his voice...it sounds like honey...I love honey! Seriously though Frieda...you somehow managed to turn love lost into a romantic notion...I don't get longing from this...just someone looking back...smiling glad for shared moments! Even without crazy passionate ending their was love there...there was joy felt! Beautiful! I love this poem!
