Crucified Little Earthquakes

Crucified Little Earthquakes

A Poem by Frieda P
"

~inspiration Tori Amos, Crucify

"
looking for my savior to undo me
under the rubble of victims remission
my chained heart nailed to a cross
lust'd sheets beneath the dirty streets
crucify myself lookin' for imprinted adoration
little earthquakes of my soul unload'd
save me from myself and these blood tears
my heart thunders like a roller coaster ride,
struggle to captivate your poetic prowess
never good enough to leave my impassioned stain
severe'd connections in feeble breath's wake
washed away in torrents within ocean's depth
castles crumble in the chaos of my mindless muse

Often times we crucify ourselves over the pain others have inflicted on us. The act of confronting and dealing with the trauma on a daily basis is its own torment. Layer upon layer of suffering is expressed in your words with such heart breaking clarity.. x

I can relate with the concept. Sad but written beautifully. Love the music video, too.
Thanks for the share.

I like the above words. All of us need a few earthquakes to make our life come alive. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.

Thanks Coyote, glad you enjoyed.
Even when you write something sad and dark, I find elegance and beauty in your words. Your talent never ceases to amaze me. It is always a pleasure to read "you".

Oh God, Frieda! Where DO you find the inspiration for so much sex writing? I could never come up with so many metaphors for lust! Another great write!

Thanks so much Ahena!
We are very often our own worst enemies, but we can only nail ourselves to the cross to a certain extent and there we hang. You've captured this one perfectly; we all need help but where do we go to find it?

Sigh, good question Anne, I don't seem to have any of the answers these days...
I'm back in my little safe haven, I should just here within your poems where everything is fine and the world is a better place, ha!

Really like the poem Frieda.... and Tori Amos.
The sense of internal pressure... is very palpable. It come through the read effortlessly.
The feeling of seeking balance with the 'outside' is present as well...
"little earthquakes of my soul unload'd", great line here, plus in a sucker for earth sciences, earthquakes as these ruptures in the fault occur, to ease tension from deep within... painful, ripping, up heaving.... and cathartic for it.... And tones of longing ring me as well.
Good stuff Frieda, nice work. Love how it moves me inside.
