Poetic justice myths

Poetic justice myths

A Poem by Frieda P

dark blank pages, in my soul's view
written in reasoning's default
Greek tragedies off the ledge
calculating a mindless scream
whispered under dispensation's breath
climbing the allotted wall's ballot
of poetic justice's myths
indulgences of the spirit kind proselytized
dealing out awards for time shares
permission granted, courtesy of unrest
brass tacks on the deck of substance
matters not the actualization
real world spun on a dime
leaving no time for still life's induction
corruption in tradition's regulations
installation's selection institutionalized
confinement in loss of gray density

nothing lasts forever, so says the rain...

You are definitely back Mrs.R...your poems are always the toughest for me to review because it's so hard to find the words to articulate how they make me feel...you know I hold your words close to my heart though, I always have...I couldn't help but smile at the Greek tragedy reference ;) The last line is a knockout. What more can I say, you never fail to enforce the reasons as to why you're my favourite poet :) xo

You humble me truly Julie, thanks so much my sweet friend. :-)
I have been thinking (always an adventure and often dangerous) about your poem since I read earlier today. Someone mentioned that you packed alot into this poem. True, but there is a thread that weaves through and captures the essence of this piece. I think it's captured in the first few words - "dark blank pages.. written in reason's default";and the last, "nothing lasts forever - so says the rain". With "dark blank" and "rain" being the key words. And in between, look at all these great images you treat us with - "a world spun on a dime", no time for still life's induction", "institutionalized confinement in loss of grey matter". Damn Frieda, you're good.

This is not a happy poem, it's wearing cynical/bleak pants as I read it. While the world is always moving (way too fast at times), and at this point in history "rain" and "dark blank pages" rule and poetic justice is purely a myth. A sadistic one at that.

Heaven knows Frieda you have more than enough reason to shout out these feelings. My thinking is not some idealistic B.S. about seeking rainbows, look on the bright side, smell the roses, or suck it up and put on your big girl pants.. YUCK!!! NO, shout louder Frieda, SCREAM!! (You know mountain lionesses roar louder than the males! HA)

I know my usual windiness in reviewing your wonderful poems. Hopefully I've actually said something worthwhile. Frieda, this poem, in all its blank darkness and rain is ART and you my wonderful friend, a true ARTIST. Okay, closing the comment room door and turning off the lights. MWAH! xxoo. ~~redzone

Is life really that black and white and what we strive to achieve so hard to grasp. Clouds are among us everyday and often we are stuck beneath the grey when all we need to remember is tomorrow is another day and the sun will rise again.

Wow, thanks so much for this glowing review Poppy. xo
Love the little pointed toes in the corner but the poem makes me sad for the writer and the written about. I sense deep feelings of longing and the after effects of loss. Eloquent way for me to descend and the ending is fabu.

You're most welcome my dear
We often get trapped in the "gray"....

and when it rains, it pours...

I love that you take Poetic Justice to another level...do we truly have it?

This artistically renders the fine art of a Greek tragedy...

Well penned, Friedalicious!~xoxo~:)
